Nominations Open for NADCNM Chair
The Native American Democratic Caucus of New Mexico Charter and Bylaws state that when the position of Chair is vacated, the Vice Chair becomes Acting Chair. The Executive Officers were split on whether to keep the Acting Chair through the term or hold a special election, so the matter was brought to the NADCNM membership. On June 10, the membership unanimously voted to hold a special election and open nominations for the Chair position.
The Charter and Bylaws of the Native American Democratic Caucus of New Mexico (NADCNM) Article III, Section 2, Sub-Section A, outlines the duties and responsibilities of the Chairperson as follows:
A. Chairperson
The Chairperson shall preside over all meetings of the Caucus and shall be the principal spokesperson for the Caucus.
The Chairperson shall have the power to appoint any committee which the Chairperson deems necessary, in accordance with the rules of the DPNM.
